CROSS

One of the Youmna signature collections launched in 2001.

The design of this Cross collection began with an exploration of form. The shape of the cross often bears religious or deep symbolic meaning, however, to me, the structure was what fascinated me.

The cross is a pure form. As one who likes movement, I punctured a hole in the centre of the cross so that it hangs along the chain and moves as the wearer moves. The movement could perhaps suggest that it’s a flake, a wheel or anything your mind imagines, but it’s the fluidity of it that I adore.
